dbFM in Content Creation

Content creation provides the user with the framework to publish blogs, strories, pages etc. Each screen is specific to the function selected, so the screen presented for blog creation will vary slightly from that for creating workgroups, stories or pages. Whatever function is selected, the page is presented in three sections, header, body and footer. This topic describes how dbFM and its integrated plugin for the FCK editor can be used with an example of creating 'Page' content:

Body

Having selected 'Create Content' from the menu and chosen 'page' (your url will show <yoursite>/node/add/page). The body section of the Create Content page is reproduced below, it uses simple word processor options similar to those found in e-mail clients to provide an authoring environment. We're showing the FCK editor and dbFM is integrated (by means of a plugin).

dbFM adds the cabinet icon, to the editor tool-bar. Its primary function is to enable the user to select files from the file manager to link, embed or attach to a publication (illustrated below):

The image above shows the context menu generated by right clicking on an image file.
Right-clicking on any file, revision or directory displays a Context Menu (the options on that menu will vary according to what has been selected).

Linking and embedding files obviously creates a link or embeds a picture, as shown.

When you attach a file or files (or revisions) to a node the files chosen appear in the node footer:

The files can be re-ordered simply by clicking on them and holding down your mouse button while you drag the file to its appropriate position. A finished page, when viewed, might look something like this:
